Overview
Garbage collection is a fundamental and omnipresent component of most modern and widely used distributed programming platforms such as Microsoft .Net and Java. In addition, it is a computer science issue that congregates knowledge from several areas such as operating systems, programming languages, algorithms, distributed systems, etc. We present a set of slides on Garbage Collection, both local and distributed, that can be used by other professors in their classes both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
